Events in 2008
First event of the year was the meeting of Carlo Riva with some of our patron members on February 17. Carlo Riva welcomed his guest in a restaurant on the hill of Clusane, with a marvelous view of the lake Iseo. We cheered our Honorary President and celebrated in advance his birthday, which is February 24, when Carlo Riva is in Marbella, in Spain, on holiday. The association presented him with a small vintage Ross sextant, for his collection.
28/30 March The next meeting for members is the Course for RHS Scrutineers. Also this year it will be held at lake Iseo, visiting the historic yards. The first visit is on Friday afternoon, at 4 p.m., the last on Sunday morning. As usual, besides learning the Judging Score, to judge the boats at events, the participants will learn to understand the original characteristics of the Rivas, so that they can assist the members in identifying the boats. As the places are limited, those scrutineers who assisted the judges at events will take precedence in the inscription. Please address our office with your requests.
25/27 April Exhibition of models in Rome and presentation of the books “Tritone” and “Aquarama”. The models, that cover the panorama of engine powered means of conveyance, are part of the collection of our member Francesco Fazzalari. There will also be some paintings with our Rivas as theme. In this occasion our president, Piero Gibellini, will present his last research, with contributions of Carlo Riva and Giorgio Barilani, the volumes 4° and 5° of “Carlo the Legend, Riva the Myth”. Visits of the city and social dinners will complete the program.
